I've seen a lot of terrible, incorrect edits on the pages in the past few days and having to fix them is very annoying. Here are some guidlines so everyone who likes to edit knows what NOT to do. Hopefully this means I won't see as much dumb shit getting added to the pages.
Rules & Guidlines
- Obvious rule: Don't vandalize anything. You'll get banned without any question or warning whatsoever, and you won't come back. We enact a 200-year ban policy here; if you're still alive after that long, you can vandalize whatever the hell you want.
- Do your best to have proper grammar and spelling when editing the pages. Although we do our best to make everything as accurate as possible, you can help by not making mistakes when editing. It's a major hassle on everyone to edit a terribly-worded paragraph.
- Please read over the page you're about to edit before you edit it. The information you're planning to add may already be on the page.
- Do not add pointless/duplicate pages. It's considered trashy and obviously incorrect pages may possibly be marked as vandalism, which will result in a permanent ban.
- Do not add duplicate pictures to the Gallery. This also includes different variations of pictures. If you have a picture you wish to upload, run it by NightmareIris first to see if they can't find a cleaner version of what you're attempting to add.
- This wiki identifies each robot with a specific gender. The male characters are Freddy (and Golden Freddy, respectively), Bonnie, and Foxy. The only female character is Chica. Do not attempt to change the genders on the animatronic pages in any way. These ways include, but are not limited to, the following: changing the gender on the infobox, changing instances of "he" or "him" to "she" and "her" and vice-versa, or changing pronouns to gender-neutral pronouns (they, them, etc.). If you create any of these edits, they will be undone promptly and you will be banned for 24 hours. If you continue to change them, you will be banned without question.
- Do not add your own thoughts/ideas to the pages if they have not been properly discussed. If you have an idea, add them to the comments on the page or to the comments on the Theories & Rumors page. We attempt to keep the actual pages as accurate and canon as possible, and adding incorrect or unconfirmed information obscures this goal. It will be promptly removed if you add it. If it appears to be simple misinformation on your part, you won't be banned; if it appears to be vandalism, you will be banned.
- The wiki does its best to stay as objective as possible and to not side with any one theory. When editing, keep this in mind when referencing objects that are theoretical (Chica's teeth, Phone Guy's death, etc.) and try not to side with a certain theory. In part with this, do not include certain theories in a page just because you believe them.
- Do not mention any staff member, YouTuber, etc. by name in the pages. It's very unprofessional.
- Do not create new categories for no reason. Unless they are deemed reasonable, they'll be deleted. We want to keep everything clean and organized; excessive categories do not help this cause.
- An admin's word on an edit is final, and the only people who can refute it in any way is another admin or the founder. Edit warring is not tolerated and may result in a 24 hour ban.
- This wiki uses proper abbreviation. When abbreviating words, please use periods (for example, "AM" should be "A.M.").
